W Kitchen - The Restaurant that Operates Food Delivery Only

W Kitchen is one of the unique restaurant that we come across in Penang. Constituted by a group of former kitchen crew of Northam Hotel, W Kitchen only does food delivery in limited set daily with different menu on each day. The restaurant tables only host regulars or those come with an appointment basis. Besides, heavy emphasis are given to usage of fresh ingredients, and they self supply the kitchen with home-grown herbs and spices in the restaurant's garden.

Upon learning W Kitchen serves exclusively Indian cuisine on Friday, we made a trip there for dining (reservation with the owner, otherwise the restaurant usually would not taking dine-in!). The food here deserves compliments in terms of price and taste. Set is available affordably from RM10+ to RM 20, and the taste is not compromised.

For instance, the Indian dishes on the menu we had including Tandoori Fish, Grilled Lamb, Butter Curry Egg and Vegetable Dalcha. Comparing to the traditional Indian cuisine, the dishes here is milder in spice usage and skew toward catering for general public taste. The Tandoori fish is baked to almost perfection with flaky flesh, while the grilled lamb is tender and without any strong hircine flavour of lamb.
